Who Are You?
You know, network marketing, in fact any small business, is all about people buying people.
If you run a specialist gift shop in the high street, local residents will come to you because they like you, because you spend time chatting to them and generally building relationships with them. When they want to buy that special gift, they come to you first. There's a lady who owns a shop in my town selling gifts and really nice things for the home. I was admiring a lamp in there a few months ago, but couldn't decide whether it would go in my newly decorated front room.
Guess what? She let me borrow it for a couple of days, free of charge, no deposit or anything, to see what it would look like. Unfortunately, it didn't go, but she will always have my business because she was so helpful, and spent that time building a relationship with me.
If you're a designer - your clients will be those who choose you because they like you, and trust you with their identity, not just because you "do good design work".
If you're in network marketing, people will buy from you or join you in the business because they like you and trust you. They'll buy you first, before your product or opportunity, no matter how good it is.
So you'd better get to know what it is about you that people will be drawn to.
Take some time out and write a list of your skills, strengths and passions. Find out what is unique and special about you.
We all have unique talents and abilities, and this is not the time to be shy! Write down, also, your values and what's important to you.

"What's this got to do with marketing?" I hear you ask.
Everything - because you are marketing yourself. In fact if you want to be successful in network marketing, you have to learn how to market yourself first, and how to attract people to you. You need to have 'something' for them to come to. And that something is you!
So, who are you?
Why should I buy from you? Why should I join you in your business?
Can you answer these basic questions? No? Well, you need to be able to!
Sorry to sound abrupt, but, as I said, in network marketing people buy people.
You wouldn't buy a car without knowing why you were buying it.
And people won't buy you (for that, read, "from you") unless they know why.
